I hope everyone survived the weekend without some form of technology being interrupted.

G.C. Lounsbury continued their climb up the Tillsonburg Men’s Slo-Pitch League standings after winning twice last week. They edged out a short-handed Ward’s Automotive squad and knocked off first place Hitmen.

Courtland Landscape and Grounds inched closer to first after they escaped with a one-run decision over Haines Roofing.

Ward’s, playing shorthanded, put up a good fight leaving the tying run on second in the seventh inning. Thom Puhr homered twice for the winners.

BackCountry: Josh Stubbs 4-5 HR, Bryan Deblaire 5-5, Mike Wencel HR, Bob Evans HR

Hitmen: Tim Wiebe 3-3, Ben Beuckert 3-3 HR, Jake Klassen HR, Evan Bueckert HR

The nine-man BackCountry squad plated 13 runs over the third and fourth innings. Josh Stubbs homered and scored three runs for BackCountry.

Pelicans continued their roll with a mercy over second place Smitty’s Electrical.

Hit N Run lengthened their lead atop the B division with victories over Flippin Mike’s and Team Awesome.

Jacob Enns was just a single shy of hitting for the cycle. Diedrich Klassen homered twice and drove in four.

Norfolk Electric knocked off the Pelicans, one of the hottest teams in the B division, winning by five. They had earlier dropped their first game of the week to Freeman Mechanical Jokers.

Tillsonburg Fire and Safety/RNA Automotive edged out Freeman by one. John Beere escaped with a one-run victory over the still winless Sandy Shore Brew Jays.

Crusaders won two games by forfeit over Tillsonburg Fire and Safety.

Sandy Shore left the bases loaded in the seventh coming up just one run shy of winning their first. Carey Winkworth homered and scored three runs for John Beere.

Keith McMerty homered and added two other extra base hits for the winners.

J/E Bearing continued their climb towards catching first-place Bad News Bears after winning two games by mercy last week.

Misfits collected the only other division win defeating Eh Team.

Misfits went out to an early 10-run lead after three innings.

S.O.S. Towing won three times last week including a big win over Foldens Machine Works, winning by one

Earlier in the week Foldens edged out Indi Girls, who evened their week mercying Lady OutKasts.

Country Sports Jays also mercied OutKasts and gained a tie with first-place Collins Harbour Marina and Resort.

Collins won by forfeit over Marc;s Perkettes. Pitches Be Crazy recorded victories over Marc’s and J.N.J. Concrete. J.N.J. picked up a win over Sirens.

Despite playing with nine, Indi Girls hung in there. Foldens pulled out the win with a four-run sixth. Maggie Scanlon led with a homer and triple.

Tena Bueckert led the winners with a homer and a double.

Country Sports took the lead in the fifth. Candi Obar had a run-scoring triple in the rally. Collins tied it in the seventh with Laura Corneil plating a Shannon Oneill triple.
